Our inclusive Troop welcomes all youth ages 11-17. You will learn how to create, organize, and execute adventures as a team, handle knives and axes, build fires, serve the community, learn new skills, and push your limits.
Scouting is a journey. With each experience, you grow in confidence and mindfulness. You’ll make friends, embrace the outdoors, learn new skills, and be your best self.
Try it all: high ropes courses, backpacking treks, cooking in the wild, orienteering challenges, and so much more!
This is a youth lead organization. You and your Troop choose together where the next adventure lies. The adults guide, help, and support. Bring your ideas to the next meeting and build your Troop’s next adventure.
Our Unit
Troop
From age 11 to 17, grades 5.5-12, youth lead, explore, and serve. Adults support their Scout-designed adventures and ensure safety. Our Troop has ~21 active Scouts.
At Troop 285, the youth grow into mindful, capable adventurers, leaders, and advocates.
Chartered Org
Palm Lake Christian Church, our Chartered Organization, supports many diverse groups in the community, including our Pack and Troop. We’re so grateful for the space and beautiful grounds they provide our Unit.
